Rudranath Travel Guide Uttarakhand

Rudranath holds special significance in the hearts of Lord Shiva’s devotees. Among the ‘Panch Kedar’ (Rudranath, Kedarnath, Tungnath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar), Rudranath is a remote temple in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District. The location is surrounded by the majestic Garhwal Himalayan Mountains and is 3600 meters above sea level.

This important Hindu shrine is said to have been built in the 8th century AD to house Lord Shiva’s face. Other parts of his bull incarnation, such as the hump, are in Kedarnath, the arms in Tungnath, the navel and stomach in Madhyamaheshwar, and the hair and head in Kalpeshwar. Trekkers must endure a difficult journey that will only take them to their pilgrimage site.

Rudranath is surrounded by several blessed water bodies, including the Surya Kund, Chandra Kund, Tara Kund, Manas Kund, Vaitarani, Baitarani, and Rudraganga rivers, in addition to the sacred temple located in the beautiful alpine meadow. Awe-inspiring views of the Devasthan, Nanda Ghunti, Hathi Parbat, Nanda Devi, and Trishul mountain peaks are also available.
